Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a very crafty, happy 2013. Keep a look out in tutorials (tab top of page) on how to make this frame for your layouts. Jolly good Season
Well the tree is up, the cards are posted, the shopping is done and I could do with some "Christmas Cheer"! With the heat that has been around the last few days I think we will be having a COOL Christmas....cold punch, seafood, cold meats and salad....trifle, pavalova and rum balls.....then a sleep! Here's some of the decorations that we have made in our classes.....
The finished advent calendar with the "card tree" beside it. These are both Kaiser products with Kaiser papers used on them. The embellishments are a mixed assortment of Kaiser products and various others.
The decorated candle was made by adhering a strip of paper with double sided tape to the candle. The ribbon rose was taped to the bottom edge and gem strips were adhered to the top edge of the paper. When decorating candles like this it is imperative that you do not leave them unattended in case the decorations catch alight. The other thing you can do is to burn or cut the top center part of the candle out then put in a tea light candle or the battery operated tea light candle.
The base of this bon bon is a diecut shape and then it was decorated using patterned paper, velvet ribbon, organza and plain ribbon and a die cut stamped label. You can create your own from kits or templates.
This mini book was created from 1 sheet of paper that was cut and folded. I am in the middle of making the instructions and will hopefully have a tutorial up soon. It can be made in any theme with various embellishments.
Keep cool and Happy Scrapping....

Nearly December
How are those Christmas preperations going. We decided to have an easy laid back Christmas this year- no hype, just relaxed celebrating.
These aren't traditional Christmas cards as we live by the beach so I wanted something with a "Beachy" theme and colour scheme.
A touch of blue to brighten up a traditional red/gold colour scheme.
Almost finished - a Kaiser advent calendar near completion. Christmas decorations are going up tomorrow!!
We have a good range of Christmas papers and embellishments as well as off the page projects in store. Come and have a look and make our free make & take Christmas card.

42 days of Christmas
Well with only 42 days of Christmas to go everyone is getting in the Christmas spirit...or trying to ignore it all!!
These gift bags are quick to make and add a nice touch to your gift giving. The chocolate block wrapper can be made to suit the size of the block or box of chocolates you are giving. These are good for using up scrap pieces of paper and embellishments.
Here is an old fashioned Christmas image I found. I will share some others as I find them.

New chipboard from "2 Crafty" ...Christmas range plus other bits & pieces.
Chipboard is very versatile and comes in a huge range of letters, words, shapes and off the page items. It can be painted, inked, coloured in, dry embossed, embossed, stamped. Stickers and rub ons can be used on it and it can be layered with other products. You can use it as a mask and then use the piece on the layout as well.
Chipboard swirls were used as a mask on this background page with 2 different coloured mist sprays. The envelope in the bottom left corner was handmade then stamped and decorated with diecuts and ribbon. The tulle was also sprayed with mist inks to match in with the layout.

Wow this month has really gone fast! Sorry about not posting but I spent some time in Brisbane catching up with family and friends-all the important things in life....and they make good scrapbooking material!! LOL! Catching Up
The winter colds and flu have been around our place so not a lot has been getting done but thankfully we're all on the mend. The good news is that Heart & Soul Scrapbooks is now on Facebook so you can keep up with what's happening and what's new! Please remember to like our page. We are preparing for the Spring months with new class layouts and some off the page projects-keep an eye out for sneak previews. Handmade embellishments are always so lovely so pop in and have a go at making some in our "Spring Blooms" class. Fathers day is just around the corner so cards and layouts are on the go in the next few weeks. It's time to spring clean all your craft supplies so empty out those cupboards, drawers, boxes, files, folders (you know I can go on & on here about where we stash stuff!!). See what you can use in different ways, find what you had forgotten you stashed away and use some of those tools that you only use ocassionally. There is bound to be some supplies that you don't like or need any more so consider donating them to schools or kids clubs or volunter groups that could find some enjoyment and fun with them.

Christmas In July
I know it's not really Christmas but a lot of people like any excuse for a party and will celebrate. Here are a couple of Christmas layouts. It could be a good time to catch up on any scrapbook pages from last Christmas that weren't completed yet. Or if you are really organised you can get started on this Christmas's cards!! A quick way to achieve this is to have a production line/mix and match system with the card, paper and embellishments. This takes the guess work out of trying to come up with a lot of different designs.
The poinsettia embellishments in these layouts were made by cutting out patterned paper, then layering the flowers and topping them with clear acrylic flowers from "Kutalicious" and these were coloured using alcohol inks.
"Kutalicious" is a Queensland local company that produces acrylic embellishments. Their range includes words, shapes, numbers in clear, white, black or mirrored acrylic.
"Memory Maze" is also another local company specializing in chipboard of a very high quality. Heart & Soul stocks both these company's products so come and have a look at our range and how these products can be used in your cardmaking, layouts and crafts.
